Klepon Ubi Recipe, Simple and Can be for Sale

Klepon with rice flour base, can be combined with yams. You can still get a taste of traditional klepon, but the color will turn into an orange like the color of sweet potato.  Klepon ubi is also suitable to be a snack to sell and bring profit. 

In the book "Food and Taste 100 Favorite Market Snacks" (2013) by Dian Rakyat Team published by Dian Rakyat explains the recipe for making klepon yams. You are curious about how, here is the recipe of ubi cleopatra:

Recipe Klepon Ubi Ingredients klepon yam: 
1 kg yellow yam or red yam 
250 grams sago flour Salt to taste 
500 grams granulated sugar 200 ml water 
2 pandan leaves 
1 grated coconut, choose a rather young coconut Banana leaves to taste 

How to make a yam klepon: 
1. The first step in making a yam klepon is to steam the yam until cooked and soft. Then remove the sweet potato skin, then melt until smooth. 

2. Add the sago flour, stir well.

4. The next step is to boil granulated sugar, water, salt to taste, and pandan leaves until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the grated coconut, stirring until it dries until it becomes unti coconut. If it has been then remove and simmer. 

5. Take a tablespoon of yam dough, round shape, flatten then put unti coconut in it, cover the dough until tight. 

6. Place the filled dough on top of the banana leaf pieces, arrange in a heated dandang or drain. 

7. Steam the klepon dough until cooked through, remove and refriied. If it's cold you can serve it.
